This is the aluminum guide track that the lifting mechanism wheels ride in. It fastens directly to the skylight vent itself. If your guide piece have become misshapen over the years, it may cause early failure of the flexarm or make raising and lowering the system difficult. Installation of a new guide will get things running smoothly again.
